Connor and Morgan met through mutual friends as teenagers, but their love didn't start to blossom until he moved into her congregation in late 2018. Morgan helped as an assistant in his Chinese language class and was very impressed with his progress. At first they became very good friends. They were in the same service group, and they went to the same gatherings. They even had a signature song they would always sing together at gatherings. But they were "just friends". Well... one day Morgan's friends and service partners left for a 3 month trip to Taiwan. While they were gone, Connor and Morgan were forced to spend extra time together out in service. As they got to know each other on a deeper level, they began to like one another. That feeling continued to grow until one day, Connor asked to talk to Morgan. They met at a coffee shop and discussed how they felt about each other and decided to date.
It was Superbowl Sunday and Connor had planned a romantic picnic at Elk Grove Park. He set up the blanket and basket under a big oak tree. After weeks of rain the grass was a vibrant green and the geese were honking down the hill at the little pond below. When Morgan arrived she was so excited for the cute picnic under the tree she took pictures of the food and the basket. Following their lunch, Connor pulled out a notebook Morgan had never seen before. It included hand written journal entries written by Morgan and Connor from significant days pertaining to their relationship. The first time they held hands, the first time they said "I love you", etc. As they are looking through the notebook together Morgan began to hear footsteps behind her. She turned around and saw her whole family with Connor's standing behind them. Connor then got on one knee and turned to the last page in the book which revealed the big words "Morgan, Will you marry me?". She quickly said "yes" after reading the words off the page before Connor even had the chance to say them out loud.
