Take a hike at Blue Hills Reservation! There are over 125 miles of hiking trails located here. Make sure you grab a map and make your way to the lookout at the top for a beautiful view of the Boston Skyline!
Plymouth is located about 45 minutes from Quincy. Walk through the streets of Plymouth on the water, find a great restaurant and stop by Plymouth Rock!
Newport is a beautiful town located in the south of Rhode Island. This will be about an hour and a half from Boston. Enjoy the beaches with a Del's Lemonade, and explore the cliff walk and beautiful mansions.
Salem is just over an hour from Quincy, and has a lot of spooky activities to offer! Just beware, Salem is very busy at this time of year and to plan accordingly for long lines and use of shuttles to get from parking lots into the downtown area. We recommend packing a lunch or finding reservations in advance.
If you are interested in a longer day trip, there will be a lot of beautiful foliage at this time of year! There are a handful of mountains within 2 hours from the Boston area. We recommend researching ahead of time for chairlift availability. Some notable mountains are Wachusett Mountain, Mount Major and Gunstock Mountain.
Portsmouth is just about an hour north of Boston and has lots of restaurants and shopping for a day trip. Cape Cod is about an hour south of Boston and can be a great day trip for some fresh seafood. Kennebunkport Maine is just under 2 hours from Boston and also has great restaurants and shopping available for a day trip. Don't forget to try a lobster roll while you're visiting! Some restaurants we recommend on Cape Cod are The Lobster Trap, Fishermans View and Pilot House. If you plan on taking a trip to Martha's Vineyard, please research ferry times early and book your tickets because they fill up! We recommend leaving from Wood's Hole.
