We first met in the fourth grade. Due mostly to the alphabetical seating chart, we slowly became friends. Fast forward to junior high school, where Connor asked Mariah if she wanted to be more than friends. Ten years later, we are celebrating still being best friends.
Mariah had just finished her first week of work, and came home to a note taped to the wall, telling her a surprise waited for her downstairs. (Side note: I was hiding waiting for her to go downstairs so I wasn't seen). She found a scrapbook full of photographs of our adventures that concluded with a note telling her to come back upstairs (where I had quietly scrambled to set up the site for the big question). She came around the corner, I said some stuff, she said yes, and we both cried. A lot.
