Some of you know and others probably don't but we met 16 fateful years ago at The River Academy. Connor was my first real crush. And by real crush I mean it made the pages of my diary. Of course I decided to flirt with him by yanking on the back of his backpack as hard as I could and nearly causing him to topple. We communciated our feelings by instigating an intense academic rivalry. Over the years we shared mutual friends and remained in the same circles into high school. I can admit now that I always had a heightened awareness of his presence in a room although I worked hard to pretend the opposite. He claims he tried to impress me by cliff jumping on our senior trip and therefore his resulting concussion is due to me. We went separate ways after high school but occasionally checked in. A couple bike rides and text threads were sprinkled through the years and I wondered, why did he keep checking in? Shouldn't he be surfing or traveling the world? Last year he reached out again, and the timing worked well to catch up. We rode bikes & talked for many hours which… if you know Connor you know that is something impressive! We’ve experienced so much joy in seeing how God has brought us back together, redeemed broken areas of our lives, and has given us this gift that has been better than we even imagined. Our heavenly Father loves to give good gifts!!! And all that we can do is praise Him and thank Him!! We're SO EXCITED to spend the rest of our lives together & so excited to spend a day celebrating with all of you -who are also- extensions of the good Lord's grace and hand in our lives. We treasure you all and would definitely not be here today if it weren't for many of your prayers, encouragement, support, and couches. Let’s celebrate!!
