Our story begins on the fields of Summoner's Rift. We met through a group of friends in St Louis when Eva decided to come to St Louis to meet the friends who had been in her life the past 5 years. Since Eva was traveling across the country to St. Louis from NYC, she wanted to make sure as many people were there for the big League of Legends Worlds event. Yes we're nerds and according to Connor's dad, Eva met a bunch of goobers in St. Louis. When Eva was deciding to go meet about 15 guys she never met before she had second thoughts. "This is how you end up on a milk carton" is what she said out loud. It was one friend, Ashish who was so excited that she was coming that she decided she couldn't let them down. Eva booked her flight and Airbnb and packed a suitcase full of clothes that made sure she was seen as "one of the boys". Connor talked to Mark prior to the trip to St Louis, "I think Eva is flirting with me", Mark replied "No she's not she is just really nice to everyone". Connor said "Nah we will see what happens in St. Louis." He mentioned that he was going to go after Eva. Once in St. Louis, Eva and Connor met up at Sugarfire Smoke House, it was there after that Eva got into Connor's car, kicking his wingman Mark to the back seat and never getting out for the rest of the trip. There were many conversations in the car, they went and did an Escape Room, got lost going to see the arch, watched Worlds on a futon, went to Bdubs, and then to Westport Social a game bar. Eva and Connor teamed up in shuffleboard beating the other guys, lost to two baseball players in cornhole, but Connor taught Eva to shoot hoops! Later that night around midnight, they wanted to get some Ice cream from McDonald's. Being that is was November 6th it was bitterly cold. But, Mark, David M, and Connor had the bright idea to sit outside and eat the ice cream. Connor and Eva sat across from each other and Eva could be seen physically shivering, Connor went to take his coat off to give it to her and she noticed what he was doing and gave him a look of "Don't you dare". The interaction ended with breakfast at IHOP before Connor drove back to Kansas City. When they both returned home, Connor messaged Eva asking her how she ended up in Missouri with a bunch of nerds, Eva went into being the resident 5th player after being found as a random. Connor then said "I know "league Eva" but what is "real life Eva". They began texting paragraphs and paragraphs of information and conversation back and forth throughout the day as time permitted from their jobs. Connor and Eva could be caught smiling as they were texting to where Connor's family asked him who he was talking to, he said this girl Eva. His sister Janna said "You're getting cat fished! Eva is really Evan!" Connor had planned a trip to NYC for his clients there around December 9th under the guise of Christmas being his favorite holiday, and wanting to see NYC at Christmas time. Eva made a list of places to show and take him while he was in town to give him a tour of the city from a New Yorker's view. Leading up to the NYC trip, Connor asked one night on a call "Would you go out on a date with me when I am in NYC?". Eva was stunned and her first response was "You know how old I am right?", Connor said "Yes I know, is that a no?" and Eva said "It's not a no, but are you sure?". They had had so many deep conversations leading up to this point and were asking so many questions about life goals, figuring out each other's mindset and their approach to how they see the world, and they all aligned. On December 9th, 2021 Eva went to meet Connor for dinner ordering Chinese food, not knowing Connor disliked Chinese proving there was so much more still to learn about each other. It was that night that Connor asked Eva to be his girlfriend and she said yes. They've had their high moments and low moments together, as any couple does. But, what is most important is they still pick each other every day.

Our day started with a marketplace purchase Eva wanted that had fallen through. She was bummed to say the least, wanting to get healthy and make "pimp decisions" was something she was really after. Connor suggested that they go furniture shopping and said he wanted to take her out to eat a good meal. Everyone knows Eva and Connor so a good meal usually involves steak, chicken fingers, and of course ketchup! Connor made every attempt to change how the day started for Eva and to make her feel better, lifting her spirits. A steak dinner for two and a margarita for Connor, which he claimed he needed to soften the blow of large appliance purchases they were about to undertake. They then ended up running back and forth through the store looking and comparing every washer and dryer they had available. Eva could be seen head first, sometimes halfway inside the washers testing how challenging her height would be for reaching the socks that inevitably would be on the bottom of the drum! Laughing with one another while they made the meticulous decision to purchase a washer and dryer set. They then went and bounced around on mattresses, testing them out. Having 3 dogs in one home produces a lot of fur, but it also proves to be cramped sleeping when they were all sharing a full sized bed. A king sized bed was a much needed purchase for their future. Luckily they found one and decided they would take it home that day and set it on the floor to sleep on it. Eva then of course found that Home Goods was open and the two picked up their mattress in the Tootler truck and headed over to buy bedding and pillows for their new bed. They got home, unloaded the bed and all of the bedding, moved their bedroom out of its place and laid out where they wanted everything. Later after all things were put in their place, they settled on the couch to watch a movie. As they turned on the tv Connor decided to get up and had stated that every light was on in the house! He began going through shutting them all off, leaving a dim light on in the living room. When he came back into the room, he came over to Eva and got down on one knee. Eva held her breath for a moment as Connor began to speak, it was a blur of a moment as he professed his love and desire to start a life with Eva, remarking that he was tired of waiting for the perfect time, day and moment. That they had had a great day together, purchased things for building their life together, and he wanted to share his life with no one else. A private moment together. Was it a grand proposal at a sporting event or a flash mob in the park? No, but it was everything that they both treasure in their relationship. Quality time spent with one another.
