Just a few streets from where we lived, Shem Creek is one of our favorite spots down South. Shem Creek is a waterfront area lined with restaurants, bars, and boating activity. Stop by to take a walk, grab a bite to eat, or watch boats cruise through the creek.

Rainbow Row
Your list of things to do in Charleston may be getting long, but it’s essential that you make room for Rainbow Row. This series of 13 brightly-colored houses along the waterfront is one of Charleston’s most photographed spots.
The Battery
After Rainbow Row continue down to explore the South of Broad neighborhood and the Battery. Enjoy views of the Ashley and Cooper rivers and admire stunning historic homes -a favorite spot for a bike ride.
Isle of Palms, Folly Beach, and Sullivan's Island
If you're wanting to visit one of Charleston's beautiful surrounding beaches, Isle of Palms, Sullivan's Island, and Folly Beach are all accessible from downtown via 20 minute car ride. Each beach has it's own individual feeling. See below for our overview of each: - Isle of Palms: Great for a full beach day, with a mix of locals and vacationers -Folly Beach: Laid-back surfer vibe, lots of bars, and a fishing pier - great for shark tooth hunting - Sullivan’s Island: A special place for us (where we got engaged !) Great restaurants, peaceful beach, and Connor’s favorite fishing spot.
Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge
One of the best walks to take in Charleston! We love the annual Bridge Run, but it’s open year-round for walking and biking. The views of the Holy City are unbeatable.
Pitt Street Bridge
A locals favorite! This is located near the historic Old Village of Mount Pleasant. Many nights were spent here for sunset and fishing.
