We are closely monitoring guidelines for large group gatherings amidst COVID-19. Recently, the State of Indiana has posted guidelines that make us feel comfortable moving forward with our day. Our top priority is staying in compliance with state and federal guidelines and keeping all of our guests safe. We advise our out of state guests to adhere to the travel guidelines advised by your state. For the safety of all of our loved ones, we ask that if you have symptoms of COVID-19 that you do not attend. Please reach out if this is the case and we would love to virtually include you in our day. Please visit backontrack.in.gov for more information regarding Indiana's reopening guidelines over the next few months.
We met before a Tuesday night Chi Alpha service (the campus ministry Kelly & Connor were involved in). It was Connor's first time coming, and Kelly was a year older and student leader at the time. Kelly ended up driving him to the hangout after service at Taco Bell and we remained close friends throughout the coming years.
Kelly and Connor were next-door neighbors for a year in Bloomington while Kelly did an internship with Chi Alpha and Connor finished up his last year of school. They shared the back porch of both of our apartments and Connor and his roommates frequented the girls' apartments for games, dinners, and Project Runway viewing parties.
After living next door for almost a year, Connor told Kelly how he felt and that he wanted more than friendship. Kelly was moving to Indianapolis in June, trying to find a job, and nervous about long-distance. After remaining close over the summer months, we decided to become official.
Connor wanted to surprise Kelly who is usually pretty quick to pick up on anything out of the ordinary. He had two of her friends plan to get sushi with her after work and planned a scavenger hunt around her apartment to lead her to the front porch. Kelly lives in an old house, and somehow was unable to open the back door where she parks, and went around to the front to see Connor waiting for her. (Kelly's never had a problem with the door previously or since!). It was a funny moment, but Kelly did go back through the correct door and finished the scavenger hunt for Connor to propose on the front porch.
