Survived through COVID, vet school and living countries apart, now it's time for the ultimate adventure. We met during the pandemic at work. We spent the summer working crazy hours and dealing with even crazier people. During this time we really got to know each other. Trent was due to start school at Saint George's University when the summer ended, and at the time we assumed it was going to be in person. Even though we thought it would be short before he had to leave, we decided to start dating and cross the distance bridge when we got there. However, it seemed we would have another year before we had to worry about being in other countries. After a year of online classes it was time to go to Grenada and we felt like we were practically inseparable. It wasn't even a question, we were going to try long distance. After spending hours in the classroom and studying we would make sure to talk to each other on the phone for at least an hour. We spent many weekends watching movies or TV shows together over zoom. It wasn't perfect and we did have days were we were too busy to have a call, but we made it through. At the end of everything we both had a dream career we were working towards and communication was key. Through everything we both made it as veterinarians. We beat distance, drama and everything in between. Together we overcame the obstacles and emerged stronger.
