We attended the same high school, but we didn't meet until the end of Senior year when our graduating class went on a trip to the beach. Conner asked me out the week of graduation and we went on one date before my family moved to North Carolina.

Conner and I dated for five and a half years long-distance. After our first date, I moved to North Carolina in 2014 with my family, and after that summer I went overseas for college for three years. We got to know each other through texting and skyping and tried to get used to a 5-hour time difference. After I graduated, I came back to North Carolina and we scheduled monthly visits, taking turns driving 3.5 hours to visit each other on a free weekend. I moved back to GA in July of 2020 and we finally lived in the same city again!

I asked Maddie to marry me on December 18th, 2020 after having the ring for over a year. We were both dressed up and on our way to dinner, so I suggested we stop and take some photos beforehand. I got down on one knee on a bridge as the camera flashed, and she said "...Wait what?!" and then "YES!"
