The Christmas break of our 10th grade year, my best friend Payton was going on a date with Conner's cousin to the movies. She didn't want to go alone, so I tagged along. Little did I know, Conner also tagged along. We met that night, and Conner got my number from his cousin. We met again at a New Year's party, and then went on our first date to another movie. (We're big movie people!) After a few months, we started officially dating on May 22, 2010, and the rest is history!
After dating 8.5 years, we've talked about marriage and a proposal for quite sometime. I had no idea how he was going to surprise me after so long. A little backstory: we go to church at Madison First Baptist and have always loved the little chapel that sits out front. For a while, every time we went to church we would try to see if the door was unlocked, so we could take a peek inside. On February 3, 2019, we went to the 10:30 service. After church, he stalled for a little bit and then we left out of the front of the church as we always do. There was a couple and their kids looking into the chapel, so we decided to take our usual peek in the window as well. Once the couple left, Conner lead me to the front of the chapel and gave me a letter, which I read through tears, then he got down on one knee and proposed. After that, my parents jumped out from across the street and were there to take pictures! We then went back to Conner's house and his parents and my brother and sis-in-law were there to celebrate!
