We grew up 6 minutes from each other in Plano, Texas. While growing up, our lives intertwined more than we realized. In elementary school, Emily attended a VBS summer camp at Conner's church one year with a friend. Conner was a camp counselor in the summers at Liberty Pool, where Emily's sister, Allie, was lifeguarding at the same time. We finally meet sometime in high school through mutual friends. If you look on our photos page, you'll see 2 photos we pulled from Facebook that were taken while we were in high school - 1 at a friend's house in their backyard, and the other is at Junior Year Homecoming. We're standing right next to each other in both! With our graduating class being around 1200, we didn't really know each other well. Emily did go to a party that Conner threw at his parents house when they were out of town (Steve and Jan, it was only a few friends!). We ended up both attending the University of Arkansas, where we reconnected after running into each other on Dickson Street. Conner started to invite Emily to hang out with his group of friends, and actually had the idea of setting Emily up with a pal of his. We became friends! Emily would join his crew to go camping and canoeing on the Buffalo River, and to do Fayetteville things. One night, when we were out on Dickson Street, in the lower level of the bar West End (throwback for our Fayetteville friends) somewhat to Emily's surprise, Conner asked if he could kiss her. We fell in love quickly and deeply. Laughter and outdoor adventure became the main elements of the beginning of our relationship, and they remain the main elements today.
