What are some other places to visit outside of Rome?

Answer

If you're extending your trip, we highly recommend visiting Florence, Venice, or Sorrento. Florence is about a 90 minute train ride from Rome. Sorrento is about a 3 hour train ride from Rome. Venice is about a 4 hour train ride from Rome.

What are some tips or advice while in Rome?

Answer

Make sure you have an outlet adaptor since most hotels do not support American plugs. Bring water whenever you can - water is not freely available. Watch out for pickpocketers and street peddlers, especially around crowded tourist areas. Know ahead of time whether your credit card will charge a foreign transaction fee. Public toilets often are not free. (And ladies, make sure the stalls have TP!)
