Things To Do

Thank you so much for making the trip to be with us on our wedding day! We know it takes time and effort to travel, and we’re so thankful that you are going out of your way to celebrate with us. Your presence will make our day even more memorable. Beaufort is the state's second oldest city, and is located in the Lowcountry. The spanish mossed draped oaks, salt marshes, and charming downtown makes this place a true 'hidden gem' (although many spots in the area can be seen in "Forrest Gump", as Beaufort served as its primary filming location). If you want to venture out further, Savannah, Georgia and Charleston, South Carolina are both close enough for day trips. We put together the list below so you can visit some of our favorite spots while you're here πŸ’™πŸš
Beaufort

Beaufort

Beaufort, SC

Downtown Beaufort is the perfect place to spend a morning, afternoon, or evening. Shop the local boutiques, sit near the waterfront, visit the playground, eat, drink, and enjoy!

Hearth Wood Fired Pizza

Hearth Wood Fired Pizza

802 Bay Street, Beaufort, SC 29902

Hearth Pizza is our go-to spot in Downtown Beaufort. We recommend starting with some Carolina Gold chicken wings, and following it up with a Prosciutto and Arugula Pizza.

Hunting Island

Hunting Island

SC 29920

Drive past the turn for Dataw Island, and you'll reach the state park of Hunting Island. There is a nature center, fishing pier, lighthouse, and a vast stretch of beach to enjoy. Recreate one of our favorite date nights and take a Hearth Pizza to-go for a sunset beach picnic.

Lowcountry Cider Co. & Superior Coffee Sea Island

Lowcountry Cider Co. & Superior Coffee Sea Island

507 Sea Island Parkway, Saint Helena Island, SC 29920

Their location just outside of Dataw Island is usually our first stop on our road trips back to Sarasota. Great place for specialty coffee and pastries.

Shellring Ale Works

Shellring Ale Works

1111 11th Street, Port Royal, SC 29935

A great place for local beer, and perfectly situated on the salt marshes.

Fishcamp on 11th Street

Fishcamp on 11th Street

1699 11th Street, Port Royal, SC 29935

Located right next to Shellring Brewery, Fishcamp is where we had dinner with Hale's parents the first time we visited them together in South Carolina.

The Fillin' Station

The Fillin' Station

57 Sea Island Parkway, Beaufort, SC 29907

Over the bridge from Downtown, The Fillin Station is a dive bar with a good view. A great place to catch sunset over the salt marshes.

Luther's Rare & Well Done

Luther's Rare & Well Done

910 Bay Street, Beaufort, SC 29902

A popular spot for late night drinks in South Carolina. The military memorabilia pays homage to the marine base on nearby Parris Island.

Saltus River Grill

Saltus River Grill

802 Bay Street, Beaufort, SC 29902

Located in Downtown Beaufort, Saltus is a fine dining restaurant with picturesque outdoor seating.

Old Bull Tavern

Old Bull Tavern

205 West Street, Beaufort, SC 29902

A quiet Gastro Pub in downtown Beaufort with good food (per Hale - so you know its good).
