This is a quick (and free) Shenandoah hike with an amazing view at the top and a favorite of all UVA students
The downtown mall is packed with amazing restaurants, shops, and bars. Some of our favorites are The Alley Light, The Fitzroy, Ten, Now and Zen, the Bebedero (get the spicy marg!), Citizen Burger, MarieBette (the best bakery!), and Whiskey Jar
Walk (or find a DD to drive you) between some of our favorite breweries, good walking tour includes these: 1. Starr Hill Downtown (in the Dairy Market) (also hit the Milk Man here for some fun cocktails) 2. Random Row Brewing Co. (get some of my cousin Billy's pizzas here!) 3. Rockfish Brewery on Downtown Mall (Main St. location) (don't go to the one on Preston Ave if you're walking, it is the wrong direction!) 4. South Street Brewery 5. Champion Brewing Company 6. Three Notch's at IX Arts Park 7. Finish it off with a Sake Bomb from North American Sake right behind Three Notch'd
One of our favorite wineries with a great view of the Blue Ridge! Also one of the closer options, just a 15 minute drive from Grounds!
If you've never gotten to walk around UVA grounds, they are so beautiful and (if it's not too hot) a lovely place to walk around
Head up to Carter's Mountain to pick or buy peaches and apples and have some of the best cider, donut, and soft serve! Make sure to check their website to see if you need to buy tickets for the time you are going. If you'll be in town for Thursday as well, check out Sunset Series but be sure to buy your tickets for that early!
Play a round of gold at the Boars Head resort!
It is about a 25 minute drive out to this area but if you make the trek, within 5-10 minutes of each other you will find some of our favorite wineries and breweries. They are listed below in order from closest to furthest away from Boar's Head Resort! 1. Septenary Winery (19 mins from Boars Head) 2. Hazy Mountain Winery (one of the best Blue Ridge views) 3. Blue Mountain Brewery 4. Veritas Winery 5. Afton Mountain Vineyards (35-40 minutes from Boars Head)
