Kate and Jeane have been pretty inseparable since becoming best friends in kindergarten.

Much like her Asian Avenue username, she’s “Short. Sweet. Simple.”. Hannah has a contagious laugh and is always giggling. Kate met Hannah in kindergarten and became closer throughout high school. Hannah is the type of person to give you reassurance when you're feeling down.

Kate met Martina in a random small office where they practiced filipino folk dance and she’s been an important person in her life ever since. Marti has a strong RBF but she is one of the kindest people you will meet. She’s smart, artistic and Chris’ favourite pickleball partner.

Kate met Mary through Filipino folk dance. Kate describes Mary as a Filipina Goddess. Hawaiian Queen. Literal definition of natural beauty. As cliche as it sounds, she is actually just as beautiful of a person on the inside.

Liane has been like a sister to Kate ever since she became part of the family when she started dating her brother, Kevin. She’s creative, athletic, thoughtful and probably good at everything. She’s the type of person who will approach you when you feel alone in a crowded room and instantly make you feel welcome.

Bella, Chris’ younger sister, became friends with Kate in high school when they started chatting on msn and posting on each others Facebook wall. Although it was a bit awkward at first when Kate realized she was dating her friends older brother, she couldn’t have asked for a better sister. Bella has always there to listen, support and encourage Kate throughout many challenges in her life.

Kate describes her friendship with Brooklyn as “soulmates, but like.. as friends”. Kate met Brooklyn when they worked together at Hope’s Home. Brooklyn has a gentle and nurturing aura about her. She is not only beautiful, but the type of person who will make you feel heard, valued, validated and all of the good things.
Andrew Lara

As Kate calls him, Kuya (meaning "older brother" in Tagalog) Andrew, he has always been the protective older brother in her life. They were childhood friends, waiting at the same bus stop in elementary, to becoming close friends while directing the dance group KFE. If you don't know Andrew and Kate's relationship, you might start to get worried they might kill each other. Andrew is the only one capable of being brutally honest and critical with Kate and be able to reassure he cares for her at the same time.

Kate met Kevin when he joined KFE, in an old gym where their first place took place. He has then become one of her closest friends. Kevin is caring, thoughtful, talented and has always been a protective older brother in Kate's life. Kevin is the type of person to not only text you to make sure you're okay, but he will do gestures like ordering food to be sent to your house when he knows you need to take a break and take care of yourself. Kevin moved to Toronto however he always makes an effort to show up and be there for Kate through for her big moments in life.

Kate met "Ness" through Chris at the beginning of their relationship. Being one of the first few friends of Chris' that Kate met, she instantly felt comfortable and welcomed by Ness. Ness has always been a shoulder for Kate to lean on, especially during Kate's early struggles with motherhood. Ness is the type of person that will always be open ears and will make you feel understood and loved. One of Kate's favorite things about Ness is her sense of humor.

Alvin, aka, The Godfather, introduced Chris to everyone he knows in Saskatoon. He is the liaison to many of Chris' friendships that have led to many opportunities and adventures. Chris describes him as the Barney Stinson to his Ted Mosby, he taught him how to live. Azel is one of Chris' oldest (longevity, not age lol) friends. They spent many nights not doing homework and either playing Counter-Strike or watching American Idol. They spent many lunches together eating pho and til this day, will make an effort to join Chris and Kate when they come down to Regina to eat pho. Azel will make you feel like you're funniest person in the world by his cheerful laugh.

Don, "the advisor", met Chris at a poker table with friends. Don is thoughtful. He is type of friend to make you banana pudding and drop it off to you on your birthday during a pandemic (because he knows Chris loves that dessert). Don has always been one to give Chris sound and objective advice and has been a big brother figure throughout his life.
AJ Santos

AJ is the type of person that's funny but doesn't try to be. AJ looves to fish. Chris doesn't really like to fish. But whenever AJ asks Chris to fish, he'll come along because he likes hanging out with AJ and being in his company. They both share common interests like eating, laughing, and their love for Miami Heat. Chris can always count on AJ to make him laugh, but also to be there to hear him whine.

Joey is talented, creative and has a bright soul. Chris describes Joey as his emotional rock. Joey is the goofy one, yet one of the people responsible for getting Chris out of a funk. He has helped Chris through many tough times and has helped him realize his potential.
Jeff Lopez

Chris considers Jeff as his mentor. Jeff is always there (yet not there) to offer Chris advice and provide him with guidance. Jeff isn't often seen. He decides to make an appearance here and there, but remains a man of many mysteries.

Nigel and Chris became close friends, dancing in a garage to EDM while under the influence. Some say they Found Love In a Hopeless Place. Nigel is the reliable one. He is organized, likes to party and has like 10 pairs of the same Lululemon pants in different colors.

Also known as Chris' party co-host for the infamous SOGO events with friends. Christian is the shy one, who doesn't always share his feelings unless Chris pesters him to. He is easy going and dedicated to whatever he puts his mind to.

Chris describes Mark as the little brother that acts like the big brother. He is the loyal one, kind and very giving. He is selfless and the type of person that will buy you briefs for Christmas even when you're over 30 years old. He is the most genuine kind of person and will go to war with you.

Reid is the type of friend to always say yes. He always has your back. He is always down for a meal. He will be there no questions asked. He would even give the shirt off his back to his enemy (true story).
