We chose a cruise wedding since we are getting a vacation and wedding in one! After pricing out a "land" wedding, it was simply not economical for us, and this was the better option for us at this time in our lives.
We understand if you cannot attend in person, but we appreciate your love and support nonetheless. We will have a simple get together in Virginia in Fall 2026 that we would love for you to join us then.
To book you must call (800) 465-3595, choose option 5. Let them know you are booking under the Firth Group #6793660. There is a refundable $200 deposit per room. We have a locked in group rate until August 8, 2024, after that, while you can still book with the group, rates are subject to availability that day. It is preferred you book through the Royal Caribbean groups as this makes it easier to keep track of everyone. However if you book through any other means, please choose 5:30 pm (early) dining, and send the bride your reservation number so she can add it to the group. This will allow her to ensure everyone is sat together for the wedding dinner.
The sooner the better! The earlier you book, the longer you have to make payments. As a bonus, you will also have more rooms to choose from. That being said, we turn in our ceremony count 90 days before sailing, 9 January 2026, if you have not booked by that time, you will not be added to our count. Please RSVP as soon as you book your cabin, or know that you will not make it.
We plan to hold our ceremony outside on Coco Cay, RC's private island. Should weather effect our outdoor ceremony, the cruise will move us to an indoor venue. Please see the "Cruise Booking" tab for cruise itinerary, including our special day.
Please wear Resort Casual From Brides.com "Women should opt for a simple sundress, breezy maxi dress, or high-quality romper. And while dressy sandals are acceptable, avoid standard, beachwear flip-flops. Nice, short-sleeved shirts, such as polos, are permitted for men, as well as nice shorts (think Chinos) with a belt. In general, stick with lighter colors and/or bold prints, and absolutely avoid denim, cargo, swim shorts, and cotton T-shirts. This is also the only instance when sandals may be acceptable, but ensure your feet are well-manicured before considering an open-toe look. If not, wear a deck shoe or loafer, never sneakers."
This is such a unique situation in that we are vacationing and having a wedding at the same time! While we cannot tell you who to bring on your sailing, please only bring those on the invite to the ceremony.
Absolutely! We chose a kid friendly cruise for this very reason! The ceremony will be an hour or so long before getting to go play on the island, so keep that in mind. If you decide you want to bring them on the cruise but not to the ceremony, there are care centers aboard Explorer for ages 3 to 17. These centers are staffed by trained professionals, and you can drop your child off for a nominal fee. Please keep in mind, RC requires infants to be 6 months of age, and pregnancies cannot be over 23 weeks at time of sailing.
We have brought along our absolute favorite professional photographer to take our photos. Therefore we will have an unplugged ceremony. We promise there will be plenty of time to get photos afterwards!
Either a passport (valid at least 6 months after the cruise) or your birth certificate + valid ID (drivers license, military ID, or state ID card) are required to sail. Please keep in mind that passport processing time can be up to 3 months. See "Cruise Booking" tab and Boarding Requirements for more.
While we would love for you to join on all our adventures, we realize that the activity might not fit all. Feel free to enjoy your day however you wish! We will connect onboard with other daily activities for you to join us at.
There are several internet packages available for purchase. If you choose to forgo this add on, Royal Caribbean has a free app with a chat feature. You can use this feature without paying for internet. We recommend to download app prior to boarding. Per RC: "You can make dining reservations, book shore excursions, chat with friends and family, view activities and entertainment, and access your onboard account. You can also explore deck maps, view venues and their operating hours, access menus, and much more."
While not really a question, we want to make sure we have your address up to date! Visit https://www.postable.com/FirthFamily to update our address book. We want to be sure we can send you cards and life updates. Only the bride and groom will see your information.
