Joe and Talia met in one of the least romantic ways possible: Joe needed camera people for his job with the Binghamton Mets and because, as Joe said, "she had a pulse and could hold a camera," Talia was hired. The two continued to work together and through their many hours spent together in a press box, Talia became interested in Joe....who took a little more convincing. About three years more convincing in fact, but eventually, Joe and Talia found each other again, and after a few dates, a move to Kentucky and the adoption of their cat Rey, Joe and Talia were finally off to their happily ever after.
Many months of speculation (read as: pestering) had led to this moment. Joe and Talia sat on the beach at the Polynesian Resort at Walt Disney World right as the sun was setting. Talia could barely contain her excitement, convinced that the magic moment was finally going to happen, but as they continued to sit there and their dinner reservations crept closer, it became clear that Joe would not be proposing quite yet. But, as Joe kept reminding Talia, the night was still young, and one tense dinner date later, he eventually convinced Talia to return to the beach for an impromptu treasure hunt. After a much longer search than originally intended due to a poor understanding of directions from Joe, the two finally came across an X drawn in the sand (or what looked like an X, they actually missed their intended spot by a few feet). Joe finally got down on one knee and popped the question, just as Talia's friends emerged from their hiding spot in celebration. It was truly a magical moment in the most magical place on Earth.
