We met at Hurricane Harry's in College Station, Texas, on October 27th, 2023. Colton came up to her friend group and asked if anyone wanted to dance while staring at Sydney. Sydney jumped in and said that she would love to dance. They danced a song together. There was a guy beside them who was dancing with a literal chair. Colton made a joke about it and then Sydney said...."Well, you should go dance with a chair." They laughed, danced, and the song ended. One song passed, then the next song that came on, Colton came and asked Sydney to dance again. Sydney said yes, and at the end of the song, Colton asked Sydney for her number, and Sydney gave it to him. Then, they started texting.

Colton and Sydney's first date was on November 5th, 2023. Colton picked Sydney up from her house and took her out to Gringos, which is Sydney's favorite restaurant in College Station. They ate and talked about their lives. Colton was (and still is) a gentleman. He opened every door, paid for her meal, and always used his manners. After dinner, they decided to go get ice cream at Andy's. Colton asked Sydney if she wanted his dog, Buck, to tag along and get a pup cone with them. Sydney said yes, of course. This was the game-winning move to lock Sydney down. They went and got Buck and headed to get ice cream. Colton let Sydney feed Buck his pup cone. After ice cream, Colton and Sydney went to get gas. Colton asked, "So does this mean that this was good enough for a second date?" Sydney said, "Yes!"....and they lived happily ever after.

After spending time with her family in Fort Worth for Thanksgiving festivities, Sydney rushed her family to get back to College Station so that she could see Colton. Colton came to decorate Sydney's house for Christmas (which is her favorite holiday). This year, she kept her composure to start decorating the day before Thanksgiving instead of the day after Halloween. They decorated the house with Christmas trees, ornaments, and mistletoe. After decorating the house, they watched a movie and spent time together. During the movie, Colton asked Sydney to be his girlfriend. Sydney said yes. They started dating on November 22nd, 2023.

Sydney just moved to San Antonio for the summer on Sunday, May 4th. On Monday, Colton asked Sydney to go on a date to eat dinner and watch the sunset in the Hill Country. Sydney got suspicious and smiled at him. He said, "Well, if you think you need to wear a dress, then maybe you should wear one." This day was far from a sunset-watching type of day. It rained and was cloudy all day. Colton ended up saying that we are doing the date rain or shine. He told Sydney that if it was raining, then they would just dance in the rain. Colton picked Sydney up and they went to pick up Torchy’s and headed to their secret spot. It stopped raining for a little bit when they got to the spot. Colton turned the speaker on in the truck to play music while they danced. Colton shut the door of his truck and they could not hear the music, so he had to walk to his door so that Sydney would not see the ring box in his back pocket. Colton came back to Sydney and he danced. Then, Colton said, “Sydney Anne,” and she knew what was about to happen. Colton got down on his knee and asked Sydney to marry him. Sydney said, “Yes!” The ring box was upside down, so Sydney turned the box the right way. It was so cute. Colton told Sydney to turn around and she saw their friend, who was a photographer, in the bushes taking pictures of their engagement. She was shocked. They were so excited. Colton gave Sydney a huge bouquet and they took some pictures with the new bling on her hand. That night, they got to spend time with each other and share the news with all of their family and friends.
