Our Story

When Natalie first visited New York for her 16th birthday, she told her mom, "I like it here, but I'd never live here." Fast forward 11 years and she was headed to start her first job in the city. Colton was not far behind, moving to the city from Pennsylvania a year later to join the same marketing agency. The first time we spoke was on a call where Natalie trained Colton on how to fill out time cards, and Natalie remembers how friendly Colton sounded. As time went on, Colton and Natalie got to know each other better through collaboration on client work, team bonding, and a shared love of coffee. They'd grab coffee and cookies on breaks or lunch from the hidden shop, My Belly's Playlist. On one particular happy hour, they bonded over their mutual love for soccer. They shared their favorite memories and both later remembered that they hadn't been able to bond in that way with anyone before. It came so naturally. As time continued, they would occasionally get food after work, and even had a competition of who could eat the most ramen in a month. When the agency went remote during the pandemic, Natalie and Colton stayed in touch and eventually reunited in the city. We were both so happy when our friendship blossomed into something more and we started dating. When Colton and Natalie first moved in together, it was a very tiny apartment (just big enough for a bed and couch). Despite the close quarters, it was the happiest they both had ever been. That was their first of 3 apartments together in the city. Their favorite was their final apartment in Park Slope, Brooklyn, right next to the beautiful cherry blossoms and Prospect Park. In the fall of 2023, Colton and Natalie decided to start the process of moving to Bentonville, Arkansas. We were drawn to the nature, the vibrant growing community, and the opportunity to be closer to Nat's family. A month later, Colton proposed to Natalie in the White Mountains. He'd planned to propose above the tree line on Franconia Ridge, but Mother Nature had other ideas. Rain, snow, and a lack of visibility forced us to turn around and Colton waited until we were warm and cozy to get down on one knee in the loft of the Airbnb. It was the easiest, most joyful "Yes!" through tears and a very lucky Friday the 13th! We're now settled in Bentonville and have become a little wolf pack with our dog, Lennon! We can't wait to build a community in NWA and for all of you to visit. We had a very special trip with Natalie's family to the beautiful Smoky Mountains in January of 2022 and when Colton's parents attended a wedding at The Trillium's sister venue, we were blown away by the panoramic mountain views! Since we have friends and family in Missouri, Pennsylvania, and all over, the Smoky Mountains were a somewhat central location to gather and celebrate. Thank you all so much for the roles you've played in our lives. You're all so very important to us and we'll be thrilled to celebrate with you this Fall!
