How We Met

Whenever we get asked this question, we just look at each other and giggle because we have absolutely NO clue when the first time we officially met! We do know that we knew of each other and had been around one another for many years before we spent any significant time together. So whether it be from church, a mutual friend, a group gathering, a night out on the town, etc....we are forever grateful our paths did cross!

Our First Date

May 8, 2018

Colton knocked on my door looking as ravishing as ever. When I got in the car he asked what sounded good for dinner (and me being nervous) just said, "Anything!" He then made a list of several restuarants to choose from to help me narrow it down. I later found out that he had reservations at each of those restaurants for that night because he wasn't sure what I would like but wanted to be prepared (I MEAN COME ON!!). We went to a wonderful place in Little Rock, Brave New, right on the river. Colton and I hardly touched our meal, we were busy talking so much. I knew he was special, when in the first hour of talking, I learned he was a huge Harry Potter fan and loved playing the game of Clue; both of which are my favorites! I even told him to quit pretending (thinking some mutual friends of ours told him those were my favorites just so he would win some points with me, haha). After a while we finally made our way to the Pantry Crest to have dessert and coffee. We ended up spending several more hours just talking about life. The rest is history! I had never been more sure about a person until that day.

The Proposal

September 21, 2019

Colton and I had been talking about getting married for quite sometime. He is a very straightforward man and told me his timeline was for Fall of 2019, though I didn't know specifically when that would be. Colton had already moved to Northwest Arkansas at this point and we are in a groove of dating long distance. This weekend in particular he was coming down to Little Rock to visit because his mom was also going to be in town for the food truck festival and we were going to just visit with her; or so I thought. Saturday night we made plans to eat downtown at one of my favorite restaurants. As we pull up, Colton's mom calls to inform us she was delayed and would a few minutes late. Colton suggests that since the weather was nice (which was the first time it truly didn't feel like summer) that we walk around Downtown while we wait. As we are strolling through the RiverMarket, we stumble upon this beautiful greenery covered tunnel. Inside was the best surprise of my life. Colton had asked a few friends to help set up the most gorgeous space where he would get down on one knee and ask me to marry him. Before he could even lead me into the tunnel I was already sobbing! I can't wait to marry my best friend and spend the rest of our lives together!!
