It all started at a Halloween party in October 2019. Gabi’s college roommate convinced her to go, and that’s where she spotted a cutie in a cowboy hat playing beer pong. She decided to make the first move and go talk to him at some point in the night and we ended up talking the entire night. (Colton might say he got friend-zoned once or twice after that, but clearly it all worked out.) A few days later, we went to The Cheesecake Factory and played miniature golf. After spending more than an hour talking in the parking lot, Colton finally looked at Gabi and asked, “Wait… was this actually a date?” She laughed and told him yes, and from that moment, everything just clicked. Since then, life together has been full of laughter, sports games, restaurant adventures, and plenty of travel. We’re both a little goofy, but we balance each other perfectly and love finding joy in the little things together. Fast-forward to December 29, 2024, the day Colton proposed. He suggested a trip to the redwoods at Carbon Canyon Regional Park, but Gabi had no idea he was secretly coordinating with friends for a surprise. When Colton kept checking his phone, Gabi started getting suspicious (and slightly annoyed) and finally said, “If you’re going to be on your phone, I’m going to go look at the trees myself!” When she walked back over, Colton grabbed her hands and said some words that Gabi does not remember 😂 and in total shock, Gabi threw her water bottle when Colton got down on one knee. After she said yes, we celebrated with our family and friends at a surprise engagement party that Colton and Gabi’s mom had secretly planned. It was a day we’ll never forget. Now we’re counting down the days until we say “I do” at The Retreat in Corona, surrounded by the people who mean the most to us. We’re so grateful for the journey that brought us here and we can’t wait to start this next chapter together.🤍
