Colton and I met at Texas A&M University through an organization called Aggie Transition Camps. My position consisted of being in charge of 20 counselors to prepare for a camp where in-coming transfer students learn about the traditions at A&M. When one dropped from the organization, causing an available spot, we were given a list of eligible counselors. I found one with a pretty cool last name, asked around to mutual friends, and decided he'd be a great fit. I chose him because of his last name, but I didn't know it was going to become mine too! We met up at Rev's in the Memorial Student Center on campus. To say it was love at first sight would be untruthful, haha. Colton thought I was "one of those sorority girls" and I thought he was "one of those guys from the weird dorm". After talking about xbox and our nerdy side, it was clear to see we had judged each other too soon. Through the course of camp, which we are not allowed to date during, Colton became a wonderful friend. He was someone I could rely on, and it became known towards the end of camp how we felt about each other. I wasn't too subtle about my feelings, but he sure was. In fact, the night he came over to ask me to be his girlfriend, I thought he was coming over to tell me we would just be friends. Boy, was I wrong. I told him he needed to take me on a real date first, which consisted of Lord of the Rings and chicken fettuccine alfredo (college style, of course), and the rest is history.
