Like so many modern love stories, ours began with a swipe… on a dating app called Tinder. What Colton didn’t know at the time was that Austin had already swiped right on her long before she finally gave in. What caught Colton’s eye? A photo of him wearing a Henley Rowing Blazer. It instantly made her think, Okay… we might actually have something in common. It was winter break of 2020, and while Colton was home from college, the two spent almost an entire month talking nonstop over the phone before ever meeting in person. By the time we planned our first date, it felt like we already knew each other. We ended up meeting at the Wissahickon Brewing Company in the East Falls suburb of Philadelphia. Funny enough, neither of them are even huge beer drinkers, but it was close to campus and easy for Colton to get to. Colton’s college roommate and best friend, Jillian, stayed in that night with Colton’s location pulled up the entire time to make sure she survived letting a random guy from Tinder pick her up at their apartment and take her out. (Spoiler alert: it worked out.) From that very first date, everything just felt easy. But the moment Colton truly knew he was the one came on their second date. There was a huge snowstorm, the kind that makes most people stay inside and reschedule. Instead, Austin drove all the way up to Philadelphia…only to spend an hour shoveling his car out just to make the long drive back home to Galloway after the date. Watching Austin put in that kind of effort said everything Colton needed to know. And the rest, as they say, is history.
