Where to Stay
Buena Vista is a scenic 2.5-hour drive from Denver International Airport (or an equally scenic 2-hour drive from Colorado Springs Airport) through the heart of the Colorado Rockies. Amtrak also offers a shuttle from Denver's Union Station to Buena Vista, departing daily at 1:55 pm (arriving 4:30 pm) and returning daily at 8:15 am (arriving 10:50 am) for just $24 each way. Make sure to give yourself at least an hour to get from DIA to Union Station.
For those who drive from Denver International Airport... From Pena Boulevard, head west 10 miles to Interstate 70. Continue west for 25 miles then exit to CO-470 towards Colorado Springs. Continue 5 miles then exit to US-285 towards Fairplay. After 100 incredible miles through the Rockies, turn right on US-24, then just 2.5 miles later, you'll arrive at Buena Vista's Main Street. Turn right, and after half a mine, Main Street ends at South Main. Turn right for another half mile to arrive at the square marquee'd by the Surf Hotel.
