Kyle and I were friends on almost every social media source. Back in the day, when "poking" was a thing on Facebook we would poke each other and like each other pictures. On May 13th, 2017 I was celebrating my birthday and he had liked one of my photos on Instagram so instead of liking one of his, I "slid into his DM's" on Twitter and messaged him (of course I was intoxicated it was my birthday). I had invited him to my birthday celebration but he was out of town and couldn't come. We continued talking for 1 month and then HE GHOSTED ME. All I could think to myself was things were going great and he just left me on read. :( 1 1/2 months pass by and I was ready to move on and then I got a DM from Kyle on Twitter sending me his number and to text him. All hope was not lost! So then our story continues..
At the time, Kyle was working out of town and he had came down to the valley to visit and most importantly come see me for our first date (keep in mind, we had never seen each other in person). Little did we know, that we did actually meet IN PERSON but I couldn't recall. In college, I would say hi to some friends and he was in the back but I never noticed him lol but he noticed AND remembered me. So I got ready and picked him up, and once he got in my car I did not make any eye contact with him until we got to dinner (I was a nervous wreck and couldn't stop singing to make things go by faster). We started off at Cheddar's for dinner, The Point for drinks and a spontaneous trip to the BEACH! (Also keep in mind this was a Sunday and I had to work the next day lol). Kyle and I had conversations that we would never bring up in a relationship unless we were serious, but it just felt right talking about it openly. We never thought we would say this, but this was by far OUR PERFECT DATE EVER. I ended up dropping him off and I only had 2 hours of sleep and had to get ready for work but it was so worth it.
Kyle took me to a Spurs game for my birthday weekend in San Antonio. It was the last home game for the season and also a Fiesta Night. It was in the ending of the 1st quarter when I had got a visit from Coyote. Coyote had gave me flowers, chocolates and a bobble head of himself. There was so much going on I wasn't paying attention to Kyle, so lastly Coyote got on one knee and opened a ring box but without the ring. He then pointed towards Kyle and there he was on one knee asking me to marry him. Due to COVID, we couldn't take off our masks so I said "YES" but no one could hear me so I nodded my head and he placed the ring on my finger. I saw the ring it was too perfect. The moment couldn't get any better and of course I couldn't stop crying of happiness. Unfortunately, the Spurs didn't win but we both went home "winning". 🤍🤍
