Andrew and Emily first met in 2013 at the activities fair before the first day of classes at the University of Pittsburgh. While singing in separate a capella groups, a friendship soon emerged around "Supernatural", "Game of Thrones", and bad puns. Friendship soon turned to romance, and after a night of Thai food and "Moulin Rouge", they were going steady! The rest, as they say, is history!

A rainy Saturday evening that turned into so much more. Andrew and Emily headed out for date night at Iron Gate, a Mediterranean tapas restaurant in Washington D.C. Tucked in to a cozy corner near the restaurant's fireplace, wine was poured and several small plates later, the crucial moment arrived...dessert needed to be chosen. Emily decided (surprisingly!) to forgo dessert, much to Andrew's (and the restaurant's) dismay. After Emily insisted that she didn't need anything else, Andrew asked whether there was still room...for a question. He pulled out the ring box from his pocket and asked Emily to marry him, to which she immediately responded YES! Having been in on the proposal the whole time, the waiter immediately brought over champagne and implored "can we PLEASE send you a dessert to celebrate?". Emily happily obliged, and the two toasted the evening over chocolate-covered coconut ice cream bars.
