Collin had a milkshake and Jessica did not. What Collin thought was a one-time thing of giving Jessica a sip of his milkshake at swing dance practice turned into going to The Hangar together for shakes and becoming dance partners. Their friendship grew through a shared love for tabletop roleplaying games and ice cream, and they officially started dating on January 1st, 2019.

On July 15th, 2023 the couple went hiking in Glen Helen. Collin had planned to propose at the cascades while on this hike, but unfortunately when the couple arrived there were people messing around in the waterfall. It kind of ruined the moment... but Collin was ready with a backup plan. As the pair headed back to the lodge, and Jessica started through the blue gate and Collin stopped them. "To go through the Blue Gate of Knowledge, you have to answer a question". Luckily, Jessica knew the answer to this one: Yes.
