How we met

We actually had no interest...

Hanna's friend Megan and Collin's friend Dylan had been dating, and Megan revealed to Dylan that Hanna thought Collin was cute. However, Hanna herself had no intention of pursuing any romantic relationships, as she was focused on her upcoming transition to college at Northern Arizona University. Nevertheless, one night Megan invited Hanna to hang out with her, Dylan, and their friends - which included Collin. Hanna agreed, not wanting to leave Megan alone with a group of boys. When they arrived at the guys' house, Hanna found Collin preoccupied with preparations for an upcoming elk hunting trip - a true passion of his that clearly took precedence over any potential social engagements. Collin was busily packing his camouflage gear and checking his hunting equipment, completely absorbed in his hunt and paying little attention to the others around him. Later that evening, one of Collin's friends encouraged Hanna to text Collin, sensing that Collin was too timid to make the first move himself. Though Hanna had no real romantic interest in Collin at the time, she decided to entertain the idea and reached out to him. To her surprise, Collin responded immediately, and the two began spending time together over the next few months. Eventually, Hanna decided to take a break from the relationship, but Collin patiently waited for her. Then, just before Hanna's high school graduation, she spontaneously texted Collin, and he immediately replied, as if he had been anticipating her message the entire time. After that, the two became inseparable, hanging out constantly over the summer, and ultimately making their relationship official on June 23, 2017. Even as Hanna transitioned to her first year at NAU, Collin made the drive to visit her on campus nearly every weekend, determined to maintain their new, young relationship despite the physical distance. And here they are nearly 8 years later, about to get married!

Why Montana?

When Collin and I tell people we're getting married in Montana, it's often met with a chuckle and the question, "Why Montana?" But the answer is simple - it's one of the most breathtakingly beautiful places on earth, and the perfect setting to celebrate our love. As Arizona natives, we're always looking for an excuse to get out of the desert and immerse ourselves in nature, and Montana offers a stunning natural landscape that couldn't be more different from the arid Southwest. The snow-capped peaks of the Rocky Mountains, the pristine alpine lakes, the lush evergreen forests - it's a true outdoor wonderland that aligns perfectly with our shared passion for adventure and appreciation of the great outdoors. And while we've never had the chance to visit Glacier National Park before, the opportunity to experience its beauty on our wedding day, surrounded by our closest friends and family, is an absolute dream. There's something so peaceful and grounding about being surrounded by the trees and wildlife - it's the perfect place to commit ourselves to one another for a lifetime. Plus, getting married outside of our home state adds an extra element of excitement- making the occasion feel that much more special and memorable!
