FAQs

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Semi-Formal: Tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please respond by August 3rd, 2024 in the RSVP section of our website.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The chapel doors will open at 4:30 pm est for guests to begin seating, and the ceremony will begin promptly at 5 pm est. If you drive to the ceremony, event parking is located on the field beside Smedes circle.

Question

Will there be transportation provided?

Answer

Following the ceremony, transportation to the reception is provided by the Raleigh Trolley. The Trolleys will be in Smedes Circle (main school entrance) ready to take you on a short ride through downtown Raleigh and will drop you off at the entrance of Gravy. Therefore, we encourage carpooling or a ride app service to the ceremony. If you drive and would like to ride the trolley, you will need to move your car to the street, as you cannot leave it at Saint Mary’s overnight.

Question

How far is the ceremony from the reception?

Answer

A short 6 minute ride into downtown Raleigh.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Every effort will be made to provide convenient parking on Saint Mary's campus for all wedding guests. Guests who are physically handicapped will be accommodated. However, as Saint Mary’s School is a bustling school campus, the convenience of parking may be limited as other events may be taking place on campus. Guests may not park in numbered student spaces during the school year nor in marked reserved spaces at any time. You cannot leave your car in Saint Mary's overnight. The closest parking decks to the Jiddi Space & Courtyard are the Wilmington Street (117 S Wilmington St) deck, the Alexander Square (120 S Wilmington St) deck, and the Moore Square (233 S Wilmington St) deck. Entrances to all three decks are on S. Wilmington Street.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Due to guest number restrictions, we are only able to extend the invite to the children of close family. Thank you in advance for understanding and we hope you enjoy a parents' night out!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to the guest number restrictions, we are only able to extend plus ones to guests by invitation only, which will be clearly stated on your invitation and RSVP. Thank you for understanding!

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please email us at nixonwed2024@gmail.com with any dietary concerns or food allergies, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We are so thankful you will be joining us for our celebration! While gifts are not expected, we have registered for a few items we need for our new digs. Our wedding registry can be found in the menu at the top of the page.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be indoors at Saint Mary's Chapel. The reception is an indoor/outdoor venue, where the bar, music, dancing, and a portion of guest tables will be outside in the courtyard.
