How do two people ((one from Washington, one from Arkansas)) meet and fall in love? Grad school. We met as aspiring counselors. Collin began attending Bellevue University online, choosing to pursue a degree in clinical mental health counseling to become a trauma, substance abuse, and domestic violence counselor. At this point in time, Ari had been attending Bellevue University online for about three months in pursuit of a similar area of study: marriage and family therapy. It was this initial passion for mental health and human services that brought us together. In March of 2021, as we were both living very different lives and entering spring term in our online program, we met during a clinical residency. We were partnered for a 12-week project, over the course of which we got to know each other on an intimate level, and the relationship shifted from being classmates to being friends. From there, we maintained a steady school-related alliance, helping each other with homework and discussing psychological theories, concepts, and applications (super romantic). In it's own natural way, our relationship evolved into a more purposeful connection. Fast forward to now... Engaged after 15 weeks of dating and planning an elopement/reception. It's true what they say: "When you know, you know!" We are both aware that it seems crazy. We know it's nontraditional and unconventional. We're so happy that you're here, on our wedding website, reading our story.
