Collette and Michael’s story began at Grand Canyon University during the spring semester of 2020, brought together by a 7 a.m. workout class. What started as an early morning routine quickly turned into a growing friendship over the course of the next year. Their connection truly blossomed when they began working together, spending long summer days side by side, laughing, joking, and creating memories that made it clear something special was forming. By the time the fall semester arrived, they both knew their relationship had grown into something more. On October 10, 2021, after a sweet pumpkin carving date, Michael asked Collette to be his girlfriend. From that moment on, their journey together only deepened. After graduation, life took them to different states, Collette moved back to California to pursue chiropractic school, while Michael returned to Washington before beginning physical therapy school. Despite the distance, they remained fully committed to one another, building their relationship across miles for two and a half years. In the fall of 2024, they were finally reunited when Michael moved to California. Overjoyed to be together again, they embraced this new chapter side by side. On July 4, 2025, Michael asked Collette to marry him, marking the beginning of their next adventure. They are so excited to start their lives together and are incredibly grateful to celebrate this special time with the people they love most.
