Visit the Chatham Lighthouse & Lighthouse Beach. Located right near downtown. It is an active U.S. Coast Guard lighthouse positioned near the “elbow” of Cape Cod. It helps guide vessels through the often-dangerous Chatham waters an area known for shifting sandbars, strong currents, and frequent fog.
Chatham’s Downtown Main Street is the heart of the town and one of Cape Cod’s most charming village centers. The street is lined with locally owned boutiques, coastal-inspired shops, cafés, art galleries, bookstores, and classic New England eateries. Hardings Beach is one of Chatham’s most popular and family-friendly beaches, located on Nantucket Sound. Known for its warmer, calmer waters compared to the Atlantic side, it’s ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and beach walks. The beach is wide, sandy, and offers beautiful views of Stage Harbor and the Stage Harbor Lighthouse. It is roughly a mile walk to the lighthouse.
