Our favorite Saturday activity! Stroll the market from 9-2, have breakfast, shop local vendors, eat or drink at surrounding businesses! Troy’s farmers market is the best around! Some great brunch/lunch spots: • Grab breakfast at the market! All the food vendors set up in Monument Square • Nighthawks: rotating menu featuring locally sourced products, mimosas and cocktails • Naughters: downtown diner vibes • Placid Baker: a great stop for baked goods • Little Pecks: grab a spot in the garden! • Manory’s: Troy’s oldest restaurant, a popular college spot • The Whistling Kettle: tea and more!
Our favorite place for a little hike! A short drive (less than 10 minutes) away from Troy, this little gem of a park boasts some great views. Located where the Mohawk and Hudson Rivers converge, there are scenic cliffs, friendly deer, and bald eagles! Other spots for a walk outdoors: • Prospect Park, home to the popular Troy sign and aerial views of the city. Theres a trailhead from downtown on Hill Street! • Frear Park, with a golf course and pub to boot • Oakwood Cemetery, where you can see Uncle Sam’s burial site! • Or just take a walk in downtown Troy. We recommend 2nd Street from Monument Square to Washington Park
Our most recent favorite spot for dinner and cocktails. Take a stroll after to the brownstone-lined Washington Park, the only other gated park in NYS outside of Grammercy Park in the city. Other spots we love: • Coffee: Alias, Stacks • Tacos: La Capital • Korean: Sunhee’s • Sushi: Unagi • Pizza: Defazios’s, Red Front, Bacchus • Hot Dogs: Famous Lunch • Smoothies: Juice Factory, Liza’s • Pub food, craft beer: McAddy’s, The Ruck • Ice Cream: Dutch Udder • Late night: Herbies Burgers • Cocktails: 353, Whiskey Pickle • Breweries: Rare Form • Wine: Lucas Confectionary • Live Music: No Fun, Twisted Fiddler • Dive: Footsy Magoos, Jo’s Joint
