These mountains are going to be the backdrop of our wedding, but you can go and see them up close and personal. Lots of trails and visitor centers to check out and enjoy!
This cave system is close by and is open seven days a week. It features the Silver Falls that drops 210ft from top to bottom. That, along with the usual cave features, makes this a good choice for those that loves caves, or have never been to one.
A must stop for anyone wanting to do anything in town. This place has all the information and what there is do to, see, and eat in the town. It also has a lovely little gift shop for all you souvenir lovers.
This little village is really just a group of customer services grouped together, but it’s still a HIGHLY recommended stop. The stores in this cluster are: Apple Valley Cafe, The Dancing Bean, the General Store, and the Mountain Store The Apple Valley Cafe has a decent variety of “comfort foods” on their menu, along with some truly wonderful looking deserts. Considered “Townsend’s Best Lunch”. The Dancing Bean is a coffee house that has some delicious signature drinks along with some seasonal options and baked goods. The General Store has all sorts of items including ground coffee, jams and jellies, fudge, and more. The Mountain Store is a clothing and accessories store for those who enjoy hiking or being outdoors.
There are many local crafters and artisans that have stores for selling their handmade items. We didn’t want to make an individual recommendation for each one, so you’ll have to find which ones tickle your fancy the most. (My current must visit is Wood-n-Strings Dulcimer Shop)
A scenic drive up and around the mountains that ends in Pigeon Forge. The drive even includes a number of pull over spots for stopping and enjoying the view. Though, they’re not exactly marked, so you have to keep an eye on out for them.
