John and I met through mutual friends after I moved back from Italy in 2016 and essentially remained acquaintances for about a year. I would see him out and about occasionally, but was too nervous to say much more than "Hi, how are you?" (Let's be honest. He is a CUTIE.) We matched on Tinder at one point, time passed, we went on a couple of dates, time passed, and finally the stars aligned and we realized that we are undeniably kindred spirits. Seriously, ask anyone who has ever been around us. It’s obnoxious. Our passion for travel and desire to see the world bonded us quickly. Our first major adventure happened only six months into our relationship. John lovingly referred to this trip as “a test” because it was important to make sure we were good travel companions. Thankfully our time in Italy and France went off without a hitch (other than a couple of hangry moments and my bout of the stomach bug) and we survived our first trip abroad together. In December 2018, we left for Ireland to attend John’s cousin’s wedding and planned to wrap up the trip with a few days in Scotland. The first full day of our trip was spent touring the Cliffs of Moher. As we were walking around the edges of the cliffs (not too close, of course), John made the bold move of getting down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I cried like a baby for a bit and finally said “yes!”. We spent the rest of our trip with the biggest smiles and fullest hearts. Even through all the adventures and traveling, John and I enjoy the simple things in life. We love to do projects on our house, play with our dogs Leary and Nigel, and spend time with friends and family. I honestly never thought I would find someone who loved me so unconditionally, supported me so confidently, and understood me so fully, quirks and all. I thank God everyday for the gift of John’s love, his humor, and his breathtakingly good looks. ;) We can’t wait to celebrate our union as husband and wife with you all. Cheers, Colleen
