We met through friends while Colleen was in college at St. John Fisher in Rochester, NY and Dom was living nearby. The timing wasn’t exactly ideal, the semester was ending and summer (and miles apart) was right around the corner. We decided to take the leap anyway. Long distance quickly became the theme of our relationship. Between summers apart, semesters abroad, and even a pandemic, we spent the first few years choosing each other from afar. After three years of on-and-off long-distance, Dom packed up everything and moved to Glens Falls so we could finally build our life in the same place. We spent four years there growing together and eventually bought our first home in Queensbury. On December 12 (one year before our wedding date), Dom proposed outside of our old apartment, the very first place we called home. He then surprised Colleen with a celebration surrounded by her family and closest friends. From taking a leap of faith to building a home together, we can’t wait for the next chapter.
