Brendan and I met at Kutztown University in 2012 through many mutual friends and we quickly became best friends. We could always count on each other for a random k’Town Pub visit or Wing Wednesday at Basin Street Hotel. Towards the end of our time at Kutztown we started to realize we couldn’t be apart from each other. We continued to talk every day and our relationship grew very fast.

In February 2017 Brendan asked me out on a date to Tuscany, a very small and intimate Italian restaurant on Rhawn Avenue. Within a few months we were inseparable. Everything we once did alone was 100x better now together.

On April 22 2019 we landed in Rome after a 9 hour overnight fight to start the trip of our dreams. I had an entire day planned for directly after we hit the ground that morning including the Colosseum, the Vatican, and the Trevi Fountain. Luckily, I slept the entire flight. As for Brendan, he made the mistake of putting the school bag with the ring in it right at my feet. He was too scared to sleep because he thought I would wake up and look in the school bag. Our first stop was the Vatican where the Pope was saying a mass in St. Peter’s Square. Unfortunately for Brendan, we had to go through security and metal detectors to get into St. Peter’s square. He thought for sure he was going to have to propose in the middle of security at the Vatican. He begged for us not to go in.. but the pope was saying mass and as Brendan would say I chose today to be the “holiest roller”. We ended up getting through security with no issues and the ring being present for a pope blessing was just a plus! Later that day our last tourist attraction to visit was the Trevi Fountain we walked up and there was no less than 400 people at the fountain. We pushed our way to the front where Brendan took a picture of me and I took one of him. Brendan then went up to 2 strangers with both of our phones and asked them to take a picture and a video of us. We smiled, kissed and Brendan dropped to one knee, catching me by total surprise, asking me to spend the rest of my life with him and I have never been more sure of something EVER. Our engagement could not have been any more perfect.

Colleen and I had a different road than most to becoming a couple. I knew for years during our friendship that there was something about Colleen that was different from anyone else. I always had strong feelings for Colleen but we were also best friends. During our time at Kutztown there was one night where after the bar we went back to Colleen’s house with everyone and at the end of the night it ended up just being us together. That night the way we talked and looked at each other I knew I loved her and that she was the one. Colleen is the most beautiful girl in the world inside and out and I’m the luckiest man alive to be marrying her. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend.

After Brendan coming on 2 family Disney trips in the first year of us dating I knew he was the one aka I didn’t scare him away with matching shirts, my fanny pack or even my obsessive Limited edition pin trading/ collecting. But really I knew he was the one when he gave me a sense of security that I have never felt before in my life. Brendan continues to encourage me day after day to better myself and be the best version of myself. He knows me at my best and at my worst and knows how to handle me at both and everything in between. The way Brendan treats and loves me is beyond measure and I will never know what I did to deserve a man like him. He is an amazing, sweet, romantic, generous person from the inside out and I can’t wait to meet him at the end of the isle, marry him and spend the rest of my life with him.

Brendan and I would love all of you to join us in Mexico as we tie the knot on January 23, 2021... However, we understand that this is a big request so please do not feel in any way obligated to attend in person. We are so grateful to have each of you in our lives and we feel honored that you’ll celebrate our love in whatever capacity you can.
