Make sure to take some time to explore this beautiful city—it's just a short drive from Waynesville and offers something for everyone!
Visit Local Breweries and Distilleries
Asheville is a craft beer lover’s dream, with over 30 breweries scattered throughout the city. If you’re into spirits, Asheville is also home to several distilleries offering tastings and tours. Our favorite spots to grab a drink are Wicked Weed Brewing, Ben's Tune Up, Asheville Brewing Company, and Green Man Brewery.
Apple Picking
September is the perfect time for apple picking in Western North Carolina! There are countless orchards nearby including Sky Top Orchard and Stepp's Hillcrest Orchard.
Hiking
If you’re into outdoor adventure, Waynesville’s surrounding areas are home to several gorgeous waterfalls, such as Looking Glass Falls and Sliding Rock.
Biltmore Estate
Located about 30 minutes from Waynesville, the Biltmore Estate is a must-see. In September, the estate begins to show early fall colors in the gardens, and there are special events like wine tastings at the winery.
