FAQs

Question

Do I need a passport or visa to travel to Spain?

Answer

A passport is required. Please be sure to check your passport to ensure it will be valid for at least six months after the trip. As a general rule of thumb, you should renew your passport or apply for a first time passport at least 6 months before your trip. Visit https://opr.travel.state.gov/en/application/onboarding/what-to-expect/ to renew your passport. Starting in the last quarter of 2026, U.S. citizens will need to apply online for a European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) authorization to enter certain European countries, including Spain. The EU has not released a specific date yet, but will release one several months prior to its launch. More information can be found here: https://travel-europe.europa.eu/etias/about-etias/what-is-etias Consider applying for Global Entry to make your trip back to the US as seamless as possible! https://www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-traveler-programs/global-entry/how-apply

Question

When should I plan to arrive?

Answer

Because most international flights to Spain are overnight and you’ll lose a day in transit, we recommend planning to arrive in Seville on Friday, October 16. This gives you time to adjust, rest, and settle in before the celebrations begin.

Question

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

We recommend staying in or near Seville’s city center, so you’re close to the wedding events and all the sights. We have a hotel block at the AC Hotel Ciudad de Sevilla, close to the wedding venue and at Los Seises Sevilla, closer to city center. Room block information is listed on the Travel page as soon as it is available. Airbnb and VRBO also offer hotel alternatives for your stay in Seville.

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

Nope! Seville is very walkable, and taxis and rideshares are easy to find. A car isn’t necessary unless you plan to explore outside the city.

Question

What events are guests invited to?

Answer

The night before the wedding, we’ll be hosting a Welcome Party for all guests — we’d love for you to join us! The rehearsal dinner beforehand will be for the bridal party and immediate family. Final details, times, and locations will be provided on the Schedule page closer to the big day.

Question

Where will the ceremony and reception take place?

Answer

We’ll be celebrating at Villa Luisa in Seville on October 18, 2026. The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all be at the same venue.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The wedding dress code is semi-formal with a Spanish flair — light, airy, and colorful. Think mid or floor length flowing dresses, dressy jumpsuits, and suits or a jacket. We’d love for guests to lean into bold, colorful hues and patterns to match the spirit of Seville.

Question

What’s the weather like in Seville in October?

Answer

October is usually warm during the day and cooler in the evening, with average highs around 75-79 and lows around 57-61. Pack a light jacket or wrap, especially if you plan to keep the celebration going late into the night after the wedding.

Question

Are the events indoors or outdoors?

Answer

There will be a mix of indoor and outdoor moments throughout the evening. If the weather is on our side (and we’re hoping it is!), we’ll get to enjoy some beautiful outdoor spaces.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your little ones, but our wedding will be an adults-only celebration.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We’d love to host everyone, but due to venue and event considerations, we’re only able to include the guests listed on each invitation. Thanks so much for understanding!

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

Comfortable walking shoes (hello, cobblestone streets!) Light daytime outfits for exploring A jacket or shawl for evening events A European power adapter (Type C/F)

Question

I'm traveling to Seville early and/or staying after the wedding. Do you have any recommendations for nearby cities worth visiting?

Answer

Absolutely. There are many nearby cities that are easily accessible by train if you are looking to explore more of Andalucía. Colin and I visited Córdoba, Granada and Málaga on our first trip to Seville so if you are considering visiting, please feel free to reach out for recommendations. Córdoba — ~45 minutes by high-speed train Just a short train ride north, Córdoba is home to the stunning Mezquita-Catedral, charming old streets, and beautiful patios. The high-speed train usually gets you there in about 45 minutes, making it perfect for a day trip. Granada — ~2.5–3 hours by train Head to the foothills of the Sierra Nevada to visit Granada, famous for the breathtaking Alhambra Palace with its gardens, fountains, and Moorish architecture. Trains take around 2.5–3 hours and sometimes require a transfer. Book Alhambra tickets well in advance! Málaga — ~2 hours by train Perfect if you’re craving sunshine and sea — Málaga on the Costa del Sol combines beaches with history, art museums (hello, Picasso!), and delicious tapas. The train ride is around 2 hours from Seville. Cádiz — ~1.5–2 hours by train For a coastal escape, Cádiz — one of Europe’s oldest continuously inhabited cities — is full of charming neighborhoods, seaside promenades, and fresh seafood. It’s about 1.5–2 hours away by train.
