We got engaged here! Make sure to plan your visit as soon as the park opens, as parking fills up fast!
Pfeiffer Beach
Go here if you want to drive miles down a one-way road only to get brutally blasted in the face with sand that's purple. (Tip: DO NOT visit the park if the park ranger says "it's a little windy today")
McWay Falls
McWay Falls represents one of the final southbound points of interest on Highway 1 prior to the road closure. This site is distinguished as one of only three waterfalls within the United States that empty directly into the ocean. The scenic overlook for this tidefall is conveniently located directly off the highway, requiring no hiking for access.
Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park
If you don't mind the drive, we highly recommend checking out the redwoods. The path is a flat mile loop and includes SLUG CITY. You can also purchase tickets for the Redwood Forest Steam Train, which is across the park at Roaring Camp.
