McWay Falls represents one of the final southbound points of interest on Highway 1 prior to the road closure. This site is distinguished as one of only three waterfalls within the United States that empty directly into the ocean. The scenic overlook for this tidefall is conveniently located directly off the highway, requiring no hiking for access.
If you don't mind the drive, we highly recommend checking out the redwoods. The path is a flat mile loop and includes SLUG CITY. You can also purchase tickets for the Redwood Forest Steam Train, which is across the park at Roaring Camp.
