Thank you for celebrating with us! We had a small, intimate ceremony with immediate family in April, but are happy to celebrate with you at this reception!
Dress to impress… yourself! Come semi-formal in your own way, comfortable and ready to dance the night away. Also, check the weather to see what is need to stay comfortable in the evening and night. Usually, the weather is warm during the day and cooler at night so think about bringing something to bundle up with. From a google search, - Temperatures: June is generally comfortable, rarely falling below 45°F or exceeding 89°F. - Rainfall: With an average of 10.7 days of rain, June often has the highest frequency of wet days in West Point, often featuring thunderstorms. - Conditions: Evenings are mild, making it pleasant for outdoor activities, but it is wise to prepare for sudden rain showers.
Your presence is a gift enough! While we do have a registry, please do not feel obligated to give anything. Thank you for being an important part of our lives!
Cocktail hour starts at 5:30pm, and the wedding party will arrive before 6:30pm. The Thayer Hotel is located just off post at West Point and does not require a military ID for entry. If you would like to go onto the installation, you must be screened prior to entry. There are two methods to complete this: 1) filling out the West Point Installation Access - Visitor Pass form (link on RSVP letter or read the FAQ or link below), or 2) go to the West Point Visitor Center prior to entry. This can be a time-intensive process, so please be sure to indicate on the RSVP or link below, if you would like to do screening beforehand! Absolutely!! One of MJ's cadets has offered to give a tour of the cadet area- please let us know if you are interested in attending! We plan for this to take place at 1400 on June 6th, starting at the Cadet Chapel (parking is adjacent in the Arvin parking lots). This tour would be no longer than an hour, and should give you plenty of time to get ready for the reception :) To get on post, you will need to gain installation access first- the manifest was submitted and cards granting access must be picked up from MJ’s brother, Stephen, in the Thayer hotel. He will be in the lobby from 1330-1430, and can be reached by phone at (704) 574-6104.
With our location change to the Thayer Hotel, we will no longer provide a shuttle service- the venue is easily accessible without an ID!
Yes, you do. If you did not have a DODID and did not fill out the visitor access roster, you will need to first go to the visitor center for screening. This is located just outside of Thayer Gate in Highland Falls, and can be found as a bus stop on Google Maps. You will need a Real ID, Passport, or Military ID to get through the gates. If you DID fill out the access roster, you will need to pick up your authorization card- MJ’s brother, Stephen, will hand these out from 1330-1430 on the 6th of June in the Thayer hotel lobby.
Unlikely. Please let us know if you have any specific concerns or need assistance.
