Things to Know:

We are still building out our site + finishing up wedding details. In the meantime, here's information to help you plan:

- The wedding ceremony will take place the evening of Sunday, May 24th. - Weekend festivities will kick off with a welcome picnic Saturday afternoon (the 23rd) for all invited guests able to make it (details to come). - We have a group rate at a nearby Marriott (within walking distance of venue). Check out the Travel page for more info. - You all are our closest friends and family, and we are aiming to keep our weekend intimate and meaningful. With this aim, and limited space, only those named on the invitation may attend the ceremony/reception. This means no children or plus ones, unless otherwise noted. - We are so excited to celebrate with you!!!

Our Story

If you were to ask either of us how we met or the moment we became friends, I don’t know that we could tell you. Since February 2019, when Colin joined the same business fraternity as Megan (Delta Sigma Pi - DSP), the two were in each other’s friend circles. Colin & RJ were the ones who’d knock on Megan & Sydney’s apartment door to go to Applebee’s for dollar drinks Thursday nights. Colin would hear Megan’s stories of acorns falling on her way across campus in their IS class. And when Covid shut down almost everything, this friendship went virtual. Their DSP friends had already started a Minecraft server, and soon instituted a weekly ‘Minecraft Monday.’ It wasn’t until Summer 2021 that things were anything more than “brotherly” between the two. But between Colin applying for a job in Kansas City, a shared dream to see Big Tex in person, and a well-timed Love Rooster (see below for legend) the two found themselves talking more and more 1:1, outside the company of their friend group. By September, Colin & Megan were talking every day, and Colin had secured a job and apartment in Kansas City. They began seeing each other in person rather often considering his new apartment was only a 3 minute drive from hers. Their first adventure was a full day tour of Kansas City complete with Minksy’s pizza picnic in Loose Park (a tradition they now repeat every September). Though they weren’t official for a few more weeks, it was after a weekend of exploring antique shops, avoiding the Kiss Cam at a royals game, and bickering over pumpkin scones. Megan was in her car, music blaring, about to begin her 3-minute drive home, when she noticed Colin approaching in her rear-view mirror. Either she had left something important at his apartment, or maybe he had something important to say. He had something important to say. Megan rolled down her window, paused Miley Cyrus’s cover of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, and he asked her out. Needless to say, from that moment on the two were more than just friends. :) The Legend of the Love Rooster: According to a Nun at St. Mary’s College, there is a legend of the Love Rooster. It is a ceramic rooster, that supposedly if you place it in your kitchen, all of your dreams of romance will come true. This nun gave Bonnie (Megan’s mom) one of these roosters while she was in college at St. Mary’s. Bonnie met Bill (Megan’s dad) not long after getting this rooster. Years later, Bonnie passed this Love Rooster onto Megan’s older sister, Sarah. Sarah met Jon (her now husband) not long afterwards. In 2021, Bonnie suggested Sarah lend Megan the rooster, though Sarah refused, saying it would go to her daughter, Ruby, next. That summer, Bonnie and Sarah found a different ceramic rooster (signed on the bottom that it’s from Portugal) while antiquing and gifted said rooster to Megan. Megan and Colin started dating a few months later.
