Flight
NYC has tons of airports, but the best airports to fly into to access the festivities (located on the North Fork on the East End of Long Island) are JFK, LGA or ISP. Depending on the airport you are flying into, there are various modes of transportation available (train, bus, car rental) to get out to the North Fork, which is approximately a 2 hour journey depending on the starting point and traffic.
Train
You can take the LIRR from Penn Station, Jamaica (accessible via the AirTrain from JFK) and various other Long Island towns to the North Fork area via the Ronkonkoma line -- transfer at Ronkonkoma to the train heading east towards Greenport, which stops in Riverhead, Southold (closest to the wedding venue), and Greenport depending on where you are staying.
Travel Note
You can take a bus service from various pick-up points in the NYC area right to downtown Greenport. Reservations are recommended, and a reduced fare is available if paid in advance. Click the view link to access the Hampton Jitney website, which is the main bus service in the area, with frequent service to and from the North Fork. If coming from the airport, please read through the airport connections information on the website.
