Colin & I were in the same pre-school class together & have known each other forever! Our friendship grew at 1700 Fairview Road in Five Points where Colin, Brooks, & Wes have lived for several years. I always loved Colin as friend, but when we started hanging out every weekend, I realized what a great man he had become over the years and how he possessed every quality that I had been looking for in a partner. After hours spent on their porch talking about the intricacies of life, I knew he was the one. We'd been right in front of each other this whole time and finally the timing was perfect! We did all of our engagement pictures at and around Fairview because it holds such a special place in our hearts.

Colin pulled off an epic proposal with the help of my amazing sister! My dad had texted us earlier in the week to see if we wanted to go to dinner and we had planned to do that. So that Saturday, we went home, hung out with his family, then came to my parents house so I could get ready for dinner. He sat with me in my room while I got ready. We were laying on the floor looking at old yearbooks and pictures just laughing. He said something funny and I just remember saying, "Gosh, I love you so much." So then, Kayley & Jared start yelling from downstairs that they're hungry and I need to hurry up. haha This is so typical in our family. My dad yells that they're going to wait in the car for me and Colin says well I guess I'll go downstairs. So I head downstairs not long after, with one shoe on and one shoe off and I say, okay Colin let's go, I'm going to show them how much they're rushing me! haha & Thankfully, he says, "babe, put your shoe on, you know they're just picking with you." So I do and we start to walk out to our driveway and I see my family out there and then I see my mom and his mom creeping around our garage, and then he says, "Lauren, Lauren" I turn around and he's on one knee and asks me to marry him! I was in disbelief, but of course I said yes! As all of this is going on, I realize that our parents and siblings were in on it and they were able to witness it all! Everyone rushes over to hug & congratulate us, meanwhile, I am in shock! Then my sister tells me that all of our friends are coming over to celebrate and they had a mini-engagement party set up for us! It was seriously the most perfect night and he over-exceeded my expectations! That's a major perk of marrying your best friend, they know exactly what you want :)
