I was getting ready to start on the new production of "Princesses Anonymous" and our mutual friends were showing Colin around backstage. From that day forward I couldn't stop thinking about him...

Colin and I worked on all the productions from that day forward. He became the Technical Director while I was Lead in the Props Department. We became close friends during all 9 shows we did together.

We became best friends, working together and having fun throughout each show... until one day... I wrote him a letter during "Crazy for You" telling him how I felt. We were working late on one of the set pieces backstage and I remember being worried that he didn't feel the same but I was wrong. From this moment on, we could start showing feelings for one another.

On May 16th, 2018 Colin took me on a beautiful first date at the Standing Bear Lake where he made us a delicious picnic with all of my favorite snacks. I remember just sitting by the lake just taking in the moment and learning more personal things about each other.

We both went to College and continued our passion for theater through the Omaha Community Playhouse program.

Covid years were a little tough finding ourselves and what we wanted to do with our career. We jumped Job to job and moved into an apartment for a year with our friends trying to find ourselves and trying to save as much money as we could. Throughout this time we still made sure to find time to talk about our future and spend time with one another.

We bought our first home together.

Our first trip on our own together! We woke up at 3:30 AM to get to the airport to catch our plane out. Our friends who were living with us, offered to give us a ride to the airport but I was asking them if they were sure because it was so early while trying to get Colin out of the house and he was still in the bedroom. I didn't think of anything at the moment. We got to the drop off area and as we were getting out of the car, Colin's shoe was untied so i bent down to tie it, But he was standing on top of his shoelace so I kept hitting his foot like get off of it still looking down and all the sudden, I look up and he bends down on one knee. I almost cried. He asked me to Marry Him!! The first thing after he asks me, I took the ring from his hand and said YES lol I wasn't even thinking, 5 Years of waiting, I couldn't help myself lol. He then continued and said "this was the only way I could surprise you" and we took our first flight together engaged!
