Colleen and Colin met in San Diego while Colin was stationed at the Recruit Depot with the Marines and Colleen was working on a Navy building downtown. After a first few rocky dates, things started to click after one truly epic date that Colleen will claim was the "it" moment. After picking Colleen up in an Uber (and complementing her epic hugging skills), they set off for a cocktail at Polite Provisions. While Colleen chatted away at the bar, Colin nervously kept an eye on his watch to make sure they would leave on military time to make it to the concert. He had them whisked away from the bar and headed to the concert, just a bit too early. After arriving at the venue, the bartender was confused at their arrival as the band hadn't even set up yet, and the bar was completely empty. After some quick thinking, Colin decided that they should grab a drink at a different bar while they waited for the band to set up. With little options close by, they ended up eating Taquitos and drinking tall boy beers in a 7-11 parking lot, before getting booted by a worker (because you apparently can't drink in a 7-11 parking lot - who knew!). Back at the venue, Colleen and Colin got cozy in a booth, listened to the sweet sounds of Grady Spencer and the Work, and the rest is history. Grady Spencer and the Work remain a special band to Colin and Colleen - Colleen has chosen a song by them to be played during the father daughter dance at their wedding. Colleen and Colin (and Sumo) grew their relationship in San Diego, before Colin went back to St. Louis for his MBA for a year and a half. After many trips back and forth from SD and STL during long distance, Colleen decided it would be best to spend as MUCH time together as possible and to travel the world together for 4 months. While she planned the trip of a lifetime, he planned the proposal. On December 24th, Colin popped the question at the beach in NJ. Just a little over a week later, Colleen and Colin set out on their semi-honeymoon to celebrate the engagement and explore the world together. They now live in San Diego with Sumo and are looking forward to celebrating with you at their wedding in September!
