We met online November 16th 2024 on a dating app called Holy. After exchanging messages for a few months, we realized that we shared similar interests and wanted to learn more about each other and decided to make a date. We planned to meet in person at Massa Cafe on 1/2/2025. Colin arrived first and found a table to wait patiently for Rose's arrival. Colin saw Rose come in through the Exit door and began to laugh on the inside as to not offend Rose. Rose sat down, which then began the eleven month quest of Colin winning Rose's heart. On that first date, we made it a priority that we were intentional about getting to know each other to see if marriage was what the Lord intended for us. As we grew closer together, we continued to seek to grow closer to Jesus, our shared Lord and Savior. We experienced trials and tests as we journeyed through our relationship, but that not only brought us closer together, but witnessed God carve a path to make possible. After presenting our request to God to make sure that our feelings and emotions matched God's will, He confirmed that we should be joined together in holy matrimony. On December 19th 2025, Colin took Rose to a sushi place, since it was her favorite food and then to the Chicago Botanical Gardens. It was the Christmas lightscape outdoor trail at the Botanical Gardens. Approximately two-thirds of the way through, coming across a corridor filled with Christmas trees accompanied with a light show, Colin prayed and felt the Holy Spirit choose this spot as the place to propose. Fumbling the ring box as he attempted to get it out of his jacket, cued to Rose what Colin was going to do. Colin got down on one knee as he asked Rose to marry him and she replied with an excited "yes!"
