We’re getting married!

Part I 1982 Remember the phone number game? Participants compete to see who could get the most phone numbers of the opposite sex in a specified amount of time. That is how they originally met the summer before their senior year of high school. Colette was playing the phone number game with her friend Lisa, when she spotted Myron in the middle of the mall from the upper level. They locked eyes and smiled at each other. Myron found Colette near the food court and they exchanged phone numbers. Communication via the landline (remember those?) ensued as Myron’s senior year at Sam Houston High School and Colette’s senior year at East Central High School began. After two months of “going together” bliss the commitments of school and family thwarted the relationship. They parted as friends and embarked on decades long individual life journeys. Part 2 2022 Colette’s POV After the sudden and unexpected loss of my daughter Paulette I was on a solo journey to find my AfterLOSSLife. Myron had lost his wife Carla and I reached out to him to share some of the lessons of loss I learned. Out of the friendship a common bond was formed. Myron’s POV As we started to spend more time with each other Colette understood my ups and downs and my what-if-deep-thoughts moments. As I learned to live with the loss, I discovered that I could still find love. Colette POV I don’t know exactly how we got here, but I do know that there is no where I would rather be than next to Myron. In our first year together Myron said “I got you;” and in everything he supports, loves and honors me. In a million little ways and in every big way Myron is my hero and my biggest fan. Myron’s POV As our journey moves forward, Colette makes it real easy for me to love her. We have great imaginations and big dreams, so watch out world.
