Rental cars are available at both Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris Orly Airports from several major companies, most of which have English-speaking staff. We recommend booking in advance, especially if you prefer an automatic car. Driving to Caen takes about 2.5–3 hours. The drive from Paris to Caen is easy. Most of the trip is on a straight, well-marked highway (A13), and GPS works perfectly.

Train to Caen

From Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG): Take the RER B train into central Paris, then transfer to Paris Saint-Lazare station for a direct train to Caen. The total trip usually takes about 2.5–3 hours. From Paris Orly Airport (ORY): Take a shuttle or train into central Paris, then go to Paris Saint-Lazare station for a direct train to Caen.
