When Should I RSVP By?

Answer

Kindly visit the “RSVP” page on our website to let us know if you’ll be joining us and to select your entrée preference. We would be grateful if you could respond at your earliest convenience and no later than April 30, 2026.

We kindly request that invitations be limited to the names listed on the invitation. We are unable to accommodate additional guests but we're so excited to celebrate with you!

Are Children Invited to the Wedding Celebration?

While we adore your little ones, in order to create an intimate and relaxed atmosphere, we have chosen to make our wedding an adults-only event.

Is There a Welcome Party?

Answer

Yes! Please join us Friday night, May 29, 2026 at 7 o'clock in the "Library" at the Hawthorne Hotel, located on the lower level of the lobby. We’ll have some tasty snacks for you to enjoy and there will be a full bar to keep the celebrations flowing.

What is the Dress Code for the Wedding?

Answer

We invite you to dress in formal attire for our wedding day. Suits and cocktail dresses are perfectly suited for the occasion, and tuxedos and gowns are certainly welcomed if you’d like to dress up a bit more.

What Is the Wedding Party Wearing?

Answer

The bridesmaids will be dressed in black satin gowns and the groomsmen will be in tuxedos. Guests are warmly welcome to wear black.

What Time Should Guests Plan to Arrive for the Ceremony?

Answer

Our ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00 p.m. We encourage guests to arrive by 3:45 p.m. so everyone may be comfortably seated before we begin.

Where Is the Ceremony? Where Is the Reception?

Answer

Both the ceremony and the reception will be in the Grand Ballroom at the Hawthorne Hotel in Salem, MA. The cocktail hour will be located in the Essex Room on the second floor above the hotel lobby.

Are Guests Permitted to Take Photographs During the Ceremony?

Answer

We’d love for everyone to be in the moment with us! Please enjoy the ceremony unplugged. Our photographer has it all covered.

Will There Be a Bar at the Wedding?

Answer

Complimentary drinks will be served during the cocktail hour, which will last approximately an hour and a half, along with passed hors d’oeuvres and a beautiful grazing board. During the reception, a full selection of beverages will be available for purchase at the bar.

Are Accommodations Available Through a Room Block?

Answer

As the number of rooms available at the Hawthorne Hotel are limited, there is a possibility that accommodations there may sell out for our wedding weekend. To ensure our guests have comfortable and convenient options, we’ve arranged special room rates at several nearby hotels. Please visit the "Travel" page for the link with special room rates.

Is There Parking at the Venue?

Answer

Yes, the Hawthorne Hotel offers free parking to guests and attendees. If the lot is full, there are plenty of nearby parking options such as: Museum Place Garage, Waterfront Garage (South Harbor Garage), Church Street Garage.
